T'Challa, the Black Panther is a fictional character from Marvel Comics. He is the ruler and king of Wakanda. With the help of Vibranium technology and his abilities, he made sure that he would protect all humanity. People even considered him one of the top intellects in the world. 

Later, T'Challa went on to become one of the strongest members of the Avengers. Eventually, he got elected as the leader of the team. 

History

As the first biological son of T'Chaka, King of Wakanda, T'Challa had a huge responsibility ahead of him. But unfortunately, his mother, N'Yami died a week after giving birth to him.

Growing up in Wakanda, T'Challa learned about the different properties of Vibranium. And at the age of five, he even started his lessons in royal duty. 

Meeting Ramonda

When T'Challa went for the border inspection for the first time along with his father, he got lost. However, Ramonda found him. 

Ramonda started sharing a close relationship with T'Challa. And thus, this was the prime reason for Ramonda to stay in Wakanda. Ramonda ended up getting married to T'Chaka and became a mother to T'Challa. 

Black Panther Joins the Avengers

During T'Challa's stay in the US, he used the alias Luke Charles to remain unrecognized. But an unwanted situation occurred. He teamed up with Captain America in a battle against Baron Zemo

After defeating Zemo, Captain America requested T'Challa to join the Avengers to which he agreed. With the Avengers, he came across different characters such as Grim Reaper, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the Masters of Evil, Scarlet Centurion, Yellowjacket, Surtur, and Ymir

T'Challa, the Black Panther in Marvel Cinematic Universe

In MCU, T'Challa is the eldest son of T'Chaka and Ramonda who goes on to become the king of Wakanda. 

After a certain age, the mantle of Black Panther got passed on to T'Challa by his father. However, a week after passing down the mantle, his father died in the bombing attack.

Which side did T'Challa join during the Civil War?

Winter Soldier got framed as the person behind the bombing. To take revenge, T'Challa started tracking him down. At that time a conflict arises between the Avengers. And, a fight breaks out between the members of The Avengers.

During the war, T'Challa joined Iron Man's side and fought against Captain America's side. The war ended when Captain America and Winter Soldier escaped. 

Appearance in MCU

T'Challa, the Black Panther is one of the main characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After making his appearance in "Captain America: Civil War", his popularity among the fans only got better.  

T'Challa has appeared in four films as of now. "Avengers: Endgame" is the last film that he appeared on. After the death of the actor, Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed the role of T'Challa, it is confirmed that there won't be a recast. So it is fair to say that we might not see the Black Panther in upcoming marvel projects.

T'Challa, the Black Panther

After reaching a certain age, T'Chaka passed down the mantle to his son, T'Challa and he became the king of Wakanda.

A week after being the king, T'Challa went on a mission along with Okoye. He was successful in taking down the mercenaries and saving the hostages. Once they returned, Okoye reported back to T'Chaka about T'Challa's performance.

The Bombing Attack

After the Sokovia Accords got approved by the United Nations, T'Challa and T'Chaka attended the conference in Vienna.

When T'Chaka started giving a speech, T'Challa realized something was wrong. But he was not able to save his father from the bombing attack. 

Even though Helmut Zemo was the man behind the attack, Bucky Barnes got framed for the death of T'Chaka. To avenge his father, T'Challa started to track down the Winter Soldier. 

Meeting Everett Ross

Within no time, T'Challa tracked the Winter Solider. They even fight each other but a helicopter fired at them which allows Barnes to escape.

Barnes tried to escape by foot. And, with revenge in his mind, T'Challa followed him as well. But his plan did not succeed as Captain America stepped in. Captain America and Falcon were trying to help Barnes.

T'Challa does manage to get a hold of Barnes but Captain America saves Barnes & gets him out of danger. The chase ends when all of them got arrested. 

All of them were declared fugitives, and taken to Joint Counter Terrorist Centre Building. When they reach there, they were greeted by Sharon Carter and Everett Ross

Civil War

The power shut takes in the building. T'Challa realized that the Winter Soldier has escaped. He decided to use everything in his power to track him down.  

On his way out of the building, he meets with Natasha Romanoff. She suggests that T'Challa join Tony Stark's side to capture Captain America and Barnes.  

T'Challa agreed to that and eventually found Captain America at the Airport. While trying to prove a point from both ends, a battle started between the Avengers.

Apprehending Helmut Zemo

T'Challa comes to know about the truth behind the bombing attack. Then, he shifts his attention toward Zemo. When T'Challa apprehended Zemo, he learns about the intention of Zemo's master plan.

Zemo even apologized for the death of T'Chaka as it was not something he did on purpose. After listening to that, T'Challa spared his life and stopped him from committing suicide.  

Bringing Nakia back from the Mission

After the death of his father, T'Challa officially prepared to be the next king of Wakanda. However, he wanted Nakia to be present in the ceremony. So, he decides to bring Nakia back from her mission. 

Crowning of the King

The ceremony started when everyone reached the Warrior Falls. While the rituals were being held, M'Baku arrived to challenge T'Challa for the throne.

T'Challa successfully defeated M'Baku and got crowned as the king of Wakanda.

Hunting down Ulysses Klaue

Upon knowing about Ulysses Klaue, T'Challa traveled to Busan to capture him. T'Challa along with Nakia and Okoye went to the place where the deal is confirmed.  

To T'Challa's surprise, he came across Everett Ross. They even started making plans to capture Klaue. But, their plan did not work out, as Klaue got the idea of what was happening. 

When Klaue escaped in his SUVs, they started chasing him. After some tussle, T'Challa got the upper hand and apprehended Klaue. 

Taking Ross to Wakanda

T'Challa handed Klaue over to Ross for the interrogation. Then an attack occurs during the interrogation in the CIA facility. Erik Killmonger is behind the attack & rescues Klaue.  

At that time, Ross takes a bullet in his spine while saving Nakia. With the help of Kimoyo Beads, T'Challa was able to temporarily treat Ross's injuries. But to heal him, T'Challa decides to take Ross to Wakanda

The Arrival of Erik Killmonger

Shuri received a message from Okoye about an intruder on the border. The outsider claims to have killed Klaue. Upon seeing the picture, Ross recognizes the person. He happens to be Erik Killmonger, an American operative assassin. 

They forward this message to T'Challa. After that, the Wakandan king holds a meeting where Killmonger gets to speak as well. 

Challenge for the Throne

During the meeting, Erik Killmonger introduces himself as the son of N'Jobu. He proves that he belongs to the Wakandan royal & has the right to the throne. Then, Killmonger challenges T'Challa for the throne.

Since Killmonger does have the right to challenge, T'Challa accepts and agrees to fight. 

Help from the Jabari Tribe

To everyone's surprise, Killmonger defeats T'Challa and throws him down the waterfall. Everyone believed that it was the end of T'Challa but a fisherman from the Jabari Tribe rescued him.

When Nakia, Shuri, Ramonda, and Ross went to the Jabari Land to get help from M'Baku, they got to know about T'Challa. With the help of the Heart-Shaped Herb, they were able to heal him. 

Final Battle Against Erik Killmonger

After getting fully healed, T'Challa returns to battle Erik. A fight breaks out between them & even the tribes get into the battle amongst each other. The fighting finally stops when T'Challa stabs Killmonger with the spear.  

Infinity War

To extract the Mind Stone from Vision's head, the Avengers traveled to Wakanda. While talking to Captain America, T'Challa got warned about the trouble they would face.  

T'Challa prepared everyone for the battle and went straight toward the battlefield. Everyone fought the battle in the best way possible. But they were not able to stop Thanos. Eventually, Thanos retrieves the Mind Stone and snaps off half of the universe. 

The Final Battle against Alternate Thanos

When Thanos snapped, T'Challa was on the list of people that got disintegrated. But when Hulk snapped to bring everyone back, T'Challa joined the final battle. 

This time around, they were successful in beating Thanos. But in saving the universe, the Avengers lost a few of their members including Iron Man.

T'Challa in What If?

T'Challa did appear in What if episode "What if T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?". The episode followed the storyline about what could have happened if T'Challa became a Star-Lord.

Who Voiced T'Challa in What If?

It might be a surprise for everyone but it was the last performance for Chadwick Boseman before his death. It was the last time we were able to see Boseman in the role of T'Challa in MCU.

Who portrays the role of T'Challa, the Black Panther in MCU?

Chadwick Boseman was the actor who portrayed T'Challa, the Black Panther in Marvel Cinematic Universe. He made his first appearance as the Black Panther in the movie "Captain America: Civil War".

Unfortunately, Boseman passed away in 2020. As per Kevin Feige, they are not going to recast the character. So it is fair to say that we won't be seeing the Black Panther in future MCU projects.
